One of AC Milan's priorities in the summer transfer market is definitely to purchase at least one midfielder who can replace Ismael Bennacer in the rotations for the first part of the season. The new name for this role is Morten Hjulmand, born in 1999 and currently playing for Lecce, who performed well in his first season in Serie A, writes MilanPress.it.
According to the Italy-based website, there have been initial exploratory contacts between the AC Milan club management and Lecce in recent days. This came about as a result of discussions regarding Lorenzo Colombo, for whom Lecce has decided to exercise their buy-back clause and Milan, in turn, their counter-buy-back clause (around €3.5 million).
The evaluation made by Giallorossi's technical area manager, Pantaleo Corvino, regarding the Danish player, is around 15 million euros. However, there is competition for the talented player from Copenhagen's academy, as revealed by BILD, including Borussia Dortmund, as well as Inter, who have reportedly made inquiries.
At the age of 23, Morten Hjulmand has made an important campaign for himself this season. His contract with Lecce runs until the summer of 2024. The right-footed Danish talent stands at 185 centimetres tall. He played in 36 matches this term and assisted his teammates 5 times.
