Among AC Milan's priorities in the summer transfer market, there is certainly the need to find a new centre-forward who can be a valid alternative to Olivier Giroud. There are many names being linked, but in recent hours, the odds of Alvaro Morata, a 30-year-old striker from Atletico Madrid, have significantly increased, and he seems to be at the top of the Rossoneri's preferences.
Tuttosport reports this morning that the Spaniard is leading the race because he could land at Milanello under favourable conditions for AC Milan. Firstly, Morata recently renewed his contract with Atletico Madrid until 2027, and a low buyout clause of 10 million euros was included. Additionally, the player has also reduced his wages to fit within Milan's parameters.
All these factors push AC Milan to strongly pursue the former Juventus forward. Another crucial aspect is the technical approval of Stefano Pioli, who has already given the green light to Morata's potential arrival at Milanello. There are alternative options like Gianluca Scamacca and Lois Openda, but they are quite expensive, so the Spaniard remains at the top of Furlani and Moncada's list.
