AC Milan continues the hunt for a midfielder. In the last few hours, after the official announcement of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea, the Rossoneri have intensified their contacts with AZ Alkmaar for Tijjani Reijnders. There have been new discussions for the Dutch midfielder. Milan wants to finalise the deal with AZ Alkmaar, especially because the player is considered useful for multiple midfield roles. The financial gap still needs to be bridged, but Milan is confident of closing the deal for less than 20 million euros, writes Milannews.it.
Another name for AC Milan?
In addition to the Dutch player, there is also great interest in following the trail that leads to Yunus Musah, a 2002-born midfielder of Valencia. The Rossoneri, now focused on finalising the Reijnders deal, still want to bring the American midfielder to wear the Milan shirt. The agreement with the player has already been reached, but the biggest obstacle is the Spanish club, as their directors are asking for 25 million euros while the Rossoneri management wants to close the deal at a lower figure.
The 4-3-3 formation seems to become more concrete for Milan
The hunt, therefore, continues. And the idea of abandoning the trequartista (the attacking midfielder), in the mind of coach Stefano Pioli, exists. The three mentioned names, in fact, are excellent players for a three-man midfield, providing more quantity and density in the middle of the field compared to the tactical scheme that includes a trequartista. The future of many players is in doubt, including De Ketelaere and Adli, who, along with Brahim Diaz, competed for a place as a number 10 in the past season. But if Pioli were to abandon this role, then the zero-cost acquisition of Daichi Kamada, who already has an agreement with the Rossoneri, would also need to be considered.
