AC Milan's striker, Olivier Giroud, has spoken to the microphones of DAZN. Here are his words, a few days before leaving to USA with the rest of his teammates:
"I missed the ball. I played with kids, of course, but I'm really happy to be back at Milanello and see the guys, including the new teammates. Ibrahimovic? I'm sorry for his retirement, he'll be missed in the locker room. I'll do the same as last year: try to be like a big brother, helping the younger ones with my experience. Season goals? I believe that in a career, you need to have objectives. Ours is to have the best possible season in the league and the Champions League. Winning the second star would be amazing. Is it the objective? Yes."
On Rafael Leao:
"I know Rafa very well, so I won't tell him he's at the same level as Mbappe, or we might lose him (laughs). He has exceptional qualities, but he still has room for growth. I think he can reach Kylian's level, but he needs to improve his statistics; his potential is there."
On Christian Pulisic:
"Christian is a player who is very fast in tight spaces. He is also good in front of the goal. I know him well: I think he will definitely add something extra to the team."
On Maldini:
"He was one of my favourite players when I was little: for me, he embodies the Italian class. He and the manager gave me the opportunity to play for Milan."
On his future:
"If I'm still here, it's because I feel that my body allows me to continue. I have the mindset, the same great motivation as last year and the year before, I have a strong competitive spirit. I am convinced that I can still contribute to the team."
