AC Milan club management are working on clearing out the squad. Some unwanted players who weigh heavily on the balance sheet should be on the way out. The future of Charles De Ketelaere, however, is not entirely certain. The player failed to impress last season and is yet to gain the trust of head coach Stefano Pioli.

As per what is reported by Tuttomercatoweb.com, Atalanta are set to focus on reinforcing their attacking midfield area and there is Charles De Ketelaere on their radar. The Belgian, who may find even less playing time at Milan in the upcoming season after a disappointing first year, is one of the players being followed by Gian Piero Gasperini's club. In fact, the Bergamo-based club has already asked for information regarding the former Club Brugge talent's situation.
A deal for De Ketelaere seems complicated...
At the moment, however, a potential deal remains quite complicated. Charles De Ketelaere was an expensive signing last summer for AC Milan. He was brought to Milanello for thirty five million euros including bonuses. The only way he could leave is if a significant offer set at around 30 million euros is sent.
Furthermore, Milan does not want to lose control of the player and would like to include a buy-back option in case of a transfer to Atalanta. This option is not appealing to Atalanta and has become a point of contention between the two clubs. In any case, Atalanta is keeping a close eye on the situation for further developments, but the deal remains quite complex.
