AC Milan's attack has worked well in the last two friendlies at Milanello (Etoile Sportive du Sahel and Novara). However, the defensive area has not done well. Il Corriere dello Sport focused on the defence of the Rossoneri team that is coached by Stefano Pioli and wrote an interesting headline. It reads the following:
"Milan, defence to be sorted out."
In the eight friendlies played, Pioli's team has conceded a total of 10 goals, including 1 from Trento and 2 from Novara.
Specifically, during yesterday morning's match (Novara), the goals from the Piedmont side came from two defensive misreads by the AC Milan defense. Pioli is working to find a better balance, ensuring more coverage from the midfield and working on the composure of his players, who in several cases have been more responsible for individual errors rather than the unit as a whole.

The defensive problem comes from the midfield. The weak interception ability of the midfielder leads to a decline in control. The existing midfielders have experience, a sense of position and even good running ability, but the interception ability is not enough, and defense is not their strong point. Milan needs a really strong defensive player at the back of the midfield, as the tactical fulcrum and defensive barrier of the midfield. Obviously, the offense in the new season has been substantially strengthened, but if you want to ensure that the plan is foolproof, there is indeed a lack of a strong midfielder. It depends on the determination of the management to further provide the team with the financial support needed to complete the final A piece of the jigsaw puzzle also requires a breakthrough in the work of cleaning up redundant staff, and the two are indispensable. I hope all goes well.
