AC Milan has unveiled the first official football club store at Milan Malpensa Airport, a significant national and international air hub. Located within Terminal 1, in the Schengen departure area, this store marks a unique venture for AC Milan.
The roots of AC Milan are deeply intertwined with the essence of Milan itself, a city renowned for fashion and design. The club has always been a trendsetter, driven by the dynamic spirit of its vibrant community and its forward-looking perspective. By establishing a presence in such a symbolic location, AC Milan, already acknowledged globally as a prestigious football brand, reinforces its standing as an emblem of Italian excellence on the world stage. It positions itself as a crossroads of cultures, embodying the heart and soul of Milan for all those who pass through the city.
This strategic move to open a new retail point in one of Milan's most prominent tourist destinations aligns with the broader retail expansion strategy. This strategy encompasses the renovation of the San Siro store, the creation of the Matchday store, and various pop-up shops in locations like Milano Centrale, Riyadh (for the Italian Supercup), as well as during the US Tour in LA and Las Vegas. Across all AC Milan outlets, including ecommerce, the retail program has experienced significant growth (+68%) compared to the previous season.
The club's objective is to establish an even stronger presence for its over 500 million fans worldwide, spanning from Milan to every corner of the globe. This encompasses both the most ardent supporters and those encountering the Rossoneri colors for the first time. They will have the opportunity to acquire official Club and PUMA merchandise, including the 2023/24 season's Home and Away kits, along with the brand-new Third kit set to debut during the weekend of September 24th in the home match against Hellas Verona.
Moreover, the store is designed to cater to those with a discerning eye for the latest trends. It will showcase exclusive and limited-edition collections introduced by the Club, including collaborations with renowned international brands like New Era, a global leader in headwear.
Casper Stylsvig, AC Milan's Chief Revenue Officer, remarked, "The store isn't just intended as a stop for tourists, but also as a haven for our most dedicated fans. Our goal is to meet the needs of all, from those seeking the latest AC Milan jersey before heading home, to those in search of a memento from our splendid city. This new retail endeavor is in line with the Club's ambitious retail strategy, strengthening both its local presence and global essence."
Operating from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM in the summer and 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM in the winter, the store will be a permanent fixture within the airport. This ensures that AC Milan will be even closer to its supporters, accompanying them on their journey until their final farewell from the city.
In 2022, Malpensa Airport saw over 21 million passengers and 700,000 tons of cargo pass through its gates, securing second place in Italy for passenger traffic and first place for cargo. Furthermore, the airport ranks sixth in Europe and ninth worldwide for the number of countries served by direct flights."
