AC Milan changes its corporate identity and becomes an event organizer as well: there will be a total of 45 events, including 19 league matches, around ten for the cup competitions, and 15 concerts. The Rossoneri club is preparing for a move from San Siro to San Francesco, the area in the San Donato territory chosen to build its new home.
As reported in today's edition of Il Giorno, it will take another three to four years, but the foundations have been laid. The official project is expected to be presented to the municipality in September. Those involved in the project have so far only been able to admire a "sketch," but what is emerging day by day is a true revolution for San Donato, as relayed by Calcio e Finanza.
While the bureaucracy at the municipality will proceed with the procedures to realize the project, the municipal council chamber is likely to be divided between supporters and opponents. The new stadium will also be a new venue for major music events. Therefore, in addition to the impact on traffic, interventions to minimize acoustic and noise impact will become crucial, even though the area is located in the midst of the San Donato highway interchange and adjacent to the railway.
"We are not surprised that Milan has changed its statutes. During the meetings that took place in the past months, the club had projected a number of events between 40 and 45 per year. Aside from the 19 home league matches, the Champions League and the Italian Cup matches, the rest of the events will be entertainment-related. After all, even at San Siro, concerts are held when the league is on a break," emphasized councilor Massimiliano Mastretta.
