Marco Pellegrino is a new centre-back for AC Milan. The young player has spoken to Milan TV and shared his feelings regarding the move:
"It's a dream to be here. When I found out about the Club's interest, I talked about it with my family. We were excited and couldn't believe it. Today, I'm here and I'm very happy that this is a reality."
What kind of defender are you?
"My qualities are speed, aggression in marking, the ability to maintain focus during matches, and the desire to work hard."
His thoughts on Italian football:
"Here, a very tactical and intense style of football is played, with players of the highest level. I hope to adapt quickly."
His Italian origins, Pellegrino said:
"I am Italian on my grandfather's side; my mother's father was born in Italy. He often talks to me about this country, and he is also happy for me. I came to Italy with my family a few years ago. I hope to adapt quickly, also counting on the support of my family. They are always with me, and together we will also get to know Milan."
Who is your idol?
"My idol is Sergio Ramos, and I also really like 'El Cuti' Romero (Tottenham's center-back, editor's note). For me, he's a complete defender, and I try to follow him."
What do you like to do off the field?
"I spend a lot of time with my family; I don't do too many things. I'm with my girlfriend, my friends, and I play video games. These are the things I do."
Pellegrino on the number 31 which he chose for his shirt at Milan:
"I chose the number 31 jersey because I had it at Platense. With this jersey, I made my debut, scored my first goal, and it's special to me."
What's your message to the fans?
"I guarantee that I will always give my best in training and in matches. I will always do my best to help my teammates. Let's hope everything goes well, and Forza Milan!"
