Tijjani Reijnders has become an important player for Stefano Pioli. Thanks to his intelligence and style on the field, he quickly won the hearts of the Rossoneri fans. The former AZ Alkmaar player spoke to NOS, a dutch outlet, and said these words:
"When I look around and see where we can live with our family... it's fantastic. Milan is a metropolis, with so many great restaurants. And I'm playing for one of the world's biggest clubs. It's true, they eat a lot of pasta here. I can see myself playing for Milan for many more years."
On playing for AC Milan:
"How many times have I pinched myself to see if it's a dream? A few times at the beginning. But it's really strange: you get used to it very quickly. At first, it was surreal: I'd think, look where you're playing now, and how beautiful it is. Milan has a team of seven people who are ready to assist all players. They help with finding a home and similar things. This takes away a lot of worries, so you can focus on football. Plus, the team has been very kind. They help me tactically and with translating from Italian to English."
He added:
"If you show your qualities, you'll be taken seriously. When I'm in the gym, I see the Hall of Fame. There, you also see Gullit and Van Basten with their Ballon d'Or awards. Here at Milan, they are thrilled to have a Dutch player. They call me 'Power Reijnders,' which is funny, like the Power Rangers. They come up with all sorts of things here."
Reijnders continued:
"Even though the season has just begun, we are on the right path. I really want to win the Serie A title. I haven't won any trophies in my life, and I want the first one to be with this beautiful club."
