Manchester United have let go Mason Greenwood after an internal investigation and a lot of controversy earlier this summer. The English player has joined Getafe on a free, leaving behind his legal troubles and a difficult experiences (he was cleared of allegations of sexual assualt).
The 2001-born striker is trying to revive his career in Spain, but he could have done so in Italy as well. Lazio attempted to sign him with a contract worth 700,000 euros, but they were not the only option.
According to what is reported by The Athletic, in the final hours of the summer transfer market window, Greenwood's agents worked hard to find a solution. They offered the young forward to different clubs including AC Milan and AS Roma in Serie A. The player's profile, however, was declined. Brentford and Borussia Dortmund also said no. Eventually, he joined Getafe in La Liga.
