AC Milan management changed a lot this summer in the market and Stefano Pioli now has a stronger team than last season's. Today's focus in La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper are the new three established players, three substitutes and four more to nurture.
The contribution of the established players has been crucial in these first three matches. Tijjani Reijnders (270 minutes played) stood out for his impeccable debut in Bologna, Ruben Loftus-Cheek (204 minutes played) for his duels against Torino (8) and intensity against Roma, while Christian Pulisic (241 minutes played) for his two goals against Bologna and Torino, as well as the opportunity against Roma (a great save by Rui Patricio). On the horizon, there will be more frequent use and even starting appearances for Noah Okafor, Samuel Chukwueze, and Yunus Musah: after the break, matches will begin every three days, allowing for proper rotations.
As for Luka Jovic, Marco Pellegrino, and Luka Romero, the goal is to earn some playing time, with the first two donning the Rossoneri jersey. It will be challenging for Marco Sportiello: with a goalkeeper like Mike Maignan, opportunities will be scarce.
