Olivier Giroud is Stefano Pioli's man in the derby. But, will he be ready for this coming challenge against Simone Inzaghi's team come Saturday night?
This is the question that Milan fans have been asking themselves for a few days after the injury suffered by the French striker during France-Ireland national team match. The Milan number 9 had a slight ankle sprain, nothing serious, but it will still be a race against time to make him available for Stefano Pioli.
This morning, Il Corriere della Sera reports that Giroud has already returned to Milanello where he immediately started ankle therapy. "I believe I can make it for the derby," said the former Chelsea player right after the injury.

Will Giroud be able to recover just in time?
There is therefore optimism about his recovery, but naturally the Rossoneri medical staff will not want to take any risks, especially since the Champions League starts next week and Milan wants to avoid more serious problems.
It will also be important to understand Giroud's condition if he does recover: obviously the Rossoneri striker will not be at 100%, so the final decision will be up to Stefano Pioli.
In case of a forfeit or starting on the bench, Noah Okafor is expected to play in his place, as he can be adapted to the role of a forward. The ideal substitute would be Luka Jovic, but the former Fiorentina player arrived on the last day of the transfer market and has not yet trained with the rest of the Rossoneri team.
