AC Milan's French goalkeeper, Mike Maignan, is one of the priorities for the club right now. The player's current contract expires in June 2026 and an attempt to extend it is on the agenda of the management.

In fact, according to what is reported by Tuttosport this morning, the former Lille star and his entourage have asked initially for a salary around 8 million euros. That figure is deemed way too high for the club. If AC Milan were to pay him that much, it would make him the highest-paid player in the Milan squad.
It's unlikely that Milan will be able to meet this demand, but there is a dialogue between the parties, it is ongoing, and will continue calmly in order to reach an agreement as soon as possible that can satisfy everyone.
No signs of parting ways for now between AC Milan and Maignan.
At the moment, as also reported in today's edition of Tuttosport, there are no storm clouds on the horizon or signs of a separation between the club and the goalkeeper. On the contrary, the common intention seems to be to move forward together, but there will be a lot to negotiate and the process could take quite a while.
Meanwhile, the AC Milan executives will have to address other issues, such as the renewals of players like Theo Hernandez, whose deal runs out in 2026, Davide Calabria (2025), Rade Krunic (2025), and also evaluate the situations of Olivier Giroud, Simon Kjaer, Luka Jovic, and Antonio Mirante whose contracts expire at the end of the current season.
