Attilio Fontana, president of the Lombardy Region spoke to Radio Rossonera on the new Milan stadium. Here are his words:.
Milan is serious about the new stadium in San Donato.
"The working tables are set up in such a way that Milan is determined to choose that location and proceed with the construction there. The issues are about to be resolved; we can say that things are going well, they are on the right track, and I am convinced that we will soon have the official announcement. We are absolutely providing our collaboration as far as our role goes. We realize that speed is important for Milan to start the investment and to build a better stadium, allowing all fans and the entire organization to be on par with all the major European clubs. A better stadium to contribute to the team's development. Milan's idea for the new stadium is leaning towards an area that can benefit from it, both in terms of the presence of people and the activities that can be realized to enrich the area. Timings? I don't feel like giving any previews; things can be done step by step. I believe they will certainly not be fast times and compatible with the club's needs."
Let's loosen up a bit, what's your prediction for the derby between AC Milan and Inter?
"For superstition, you don't say anything, but Milan is proving to be a real team. Congratulations to Pioli for managing to create a team with many new faces capable of having this team identity and facing situations that were difficult for us last year. After three games, I can say that I've never thought, 'even if we play for three days, we'll never score.' Every action can lead to a goal. In general, this year I see Reijnders very well. I believe he's one of those players who can take the midfield to a higher level. Good derby to all Milan fans and the entire city!"
