AC Milan, tomorrow, will face Newcastle United in what will be matchday 1 of the Champions League group stage. Stefano Pioli will have to set up the best possible starting lineup and put on a strong show in order to win against the English and turn the page after the loss in the derby against Inter.
Fikayo Tomori will return to the starting lineup alongside Malick Thiaw, with Davide Calabria on the right and Theo Hernandez on the left. Mike Maignan, who will want to redeem himself after the last match where he picked the ball out of the net five times (even without particular blame), will also be in goal.
There will, however, a few significant changes. In fact, it is highly possible that Tommaso Pobega starts against Newcastle from the first minute. He could play with Rade Krunic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek while replacing Tijjani Reijnders.
Another possible change will be in the attacking department. According to what is reported by Calciomercato.com, Samuel Chukwueze's chances to start are increasing. The Nigerian winger is expected to take over from Christian Pulisic tomorrow. In the striker's position, however, it seems that Olivier giroud will remain a start and will be supported from the left by the usual Rafael Leao.
