AC Milan win 1-3 against Cagliari on their field. It was an important match for the Rossoneri who managed to come back in the first half. Arrigo Sacchi, as usual, commented to La Gazzetta dello Sport on the game:
"Cagliari-Milan was a lacklustre match. Stefano Pioli fielded many new players, those we had seen little of so far. It wasn't a great game, Milan managed to equalise thanks also to Radunovic's help. In the end, I believe it was a modest match, resolved thanks to the superiority of some players."
Sacchi added:
"The team started strong but also with little compactness, in fact, this way it exposed itself to the opponents' counterattacks, perhaps the only phase of play that all Italian teams know how to do. Milan suffered two or three counterattacks, then came the help of Cagliari's goalkeeper in the first goal and partly in the second, while the third was a nice shot by Loftus-Cheek."
He continued:
"Let's say that the Rossoneri didn't exhaust themselves with effort to win. I think in football, compactness matters a lot. If a team is compact, then it's easy to double up, collaborate. The more you stretch, the more everything becomes complicated. Of course, you can also press this way, but it's not the same. In my opinion, there are three most important points: compactness, aggression, and communication."
Sacchi concluded:
"Milan has valuable players, and one hopes they'll grow even further. If they manage to do so following this path, I believe there's the material to be strong."
