Arrigo Sacchi, former Rossoneri coach, spoke about the AC Milan's victory against the Biancocelesti who are coached by Maurizio Sarri. Here are his words to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"The race at the top of the table continues in tandem with Milan and Inter. Although seven matchdays in the league are still few to establish clear hierarchies, it seems to me that this duo has the qualities to go all the way... Milan, against Lazio, especially in the second half, was on the verge of perfection. A well-organised, aggressive team, where everyone helped each other, playing the ball on the ground, no unnecessary long passes, all units always connected. And in these conditions, even a pure talent like Leao excelled and gave his best. This means, if ever a proof was needed, that a champion, when the team is functioning perfectly, improves and can make the difference."
Sacchi continued:
"At times, it seemed to me that I was seeing the Milan of the golden days, I'm talking about the Milan of my time, and I'm not exaggerating. Good pressing, overlapping, double marking, maximum attention. I have to give credit to Pioli because he is showing constant progress, and I also have to give it to his players because they managed to excite the spectators at San Siro and those watching in front of the television...
