Stefano Pioli's AC Milan squad will travel to Dortmund tomorrow. The boss is preparing for the clash in the best possible way. But, there will onl be four midfielders available for selection in the starting lineup and they ae: Tijjani Reijnders, Yunus Musah, Yacine Adli, and Tommaso Pobega. In addition to Bennacer and Krunic, Stefano Pioli will also have to do without Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who was injured against Lazio.
According to what is reported by the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri head coach wants to field a midfield with strength and pace: so the starters are expected to be Reijnders, Musah, and Pobega. The Italian midfielder is being preferred over Yacine Adli who started against Cagliari and Lazio. The former Bordeaux player, who has never played a minute in the Champions League, could still be useful as a substitute, though.
It remains to be seen who Pioli will entrust with the 'regista' role of his Milan in Dortmund. The doubt is between Musah and Reijnders: in Cagliari, it was the American who played in front of the defense when he came on in the second half, while on Saturday, in the final moments of the match against Lazio, the Dutchman played in that role. We will see who the Milan coach chooses for the first Champions League away game, as he wants to have more physicality in the midfield.
