Torino's president, Urbano Cairo, has granted a lengthy interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport. He spoke about different topics, including Milan's attempt to sign Andrea Belotti.

Here are his words:
"That's how it went. Belotti took 12 games to score his first goal, he exploded in his second year with Mihajlovic, who played with three strikers. He scored 26 goals. I told him: 'In your new contract, I would put a release clause of €100 million for abroad. It's a way to position yourself.' They had just sold Higuain for 90 million euros. In fact, one evening at dinner with Florentino Perez in Madrid, while we were talking about our players, I told him: 'I'm thinking of putting a €100 million release clause on my striker.'
Urbano Cairo continued:
"Florentino suddenly perked up and asked me everything about Belotti. That was the point of the release clause. Milan asked us to loan him with a half-obligation to buy him. Fassone justified himself: 'We've already spent a lot.' Yes, but we're talking about a 26-goal striker, and if I loan him out without making any money, how do I replace him? Belotti wanted to go to Milan, he was disappointed, he had a bad season. He got injured often. I don't have any regrets, even because I always look ahead."
