Yunus Musah has given an interview to Gazzetta.it directly from the United States' training camp ahead of their two friendly matches in the coming days. Here are the words of the 2002-born midfielder on his first part of the season with Milan.
"How much did Pulisic help me? A lot, and not just on the field. Christian is a special player, with immense quality, and it's truly a privilege to have him in the same team. We are also developing a special bond off the field, and that's an important thing."
On the beginning of the season with Milan, he said:
"I'm very happy. I entered this group quietly, knowing I had to be patient to get my chances, but it all happened faster than expected, and suddenly I found myself making an impact on the team and even starting matches. I played in different positions and immediately felt the trust of my teammates and the coach. I really couldn't ask for more. Being able to contribute and especially to win at Milan is truly wonderful."
Yunus Musah added:
"Naturally, we all dream of playing all the time and scoring a lot, but I've only tried to be patient to be ready if my opportunity came, and so it did. Honestly, I didn't expect to start as many times as it has happened so far. Now I just want to try to work hard to continue at this pace. The relationship with Pioli? The Mister is helping me a lot, adapting to new roles in a different system is not easy, but undoubtedly Coach Pioli is having a great impact on my growth as a player. I'm really happy to have him as a coach."
On the match against Genoa, Yunus Musah said:
"I think it was the craziest game I've ever been a part of. Winning it was amazing, especially considering the incredible ending. When Maignan got a red card and Giroud went in goal, I positioned myself in the wall and thought that if Genoa scored, it would have been terrible after the excellent game we had played. Then in the end, Olivier also made some great saves and we got a beautiful victory. Moments like these really make you fall in love with football."
