AC Milan management doesn't stop thinking about how to improve the squad and make it even more competitive. During these days off for international commitments, Milan's executives are traveling around the world to observe potential market targets.
For January and the next summer, Milan will make moves again. They will do it thoughtfully, but they want to continue the restructuring work that started in the summer with the arrival of ten incoming players and the departure of many elements considered unsuitable for Stefano Pioli's style of play.
AC Milan's first target is Juan Miranda.
In the January market, the Rossoneri will try to sign a left-back who can provide Theo Hernandez with more serenity. A young player who can step in when the Frenchman needs a break for rotation or suspension (Theo won't be available against Juventus due to suspension). The name identified in the summer is Juan Miranda, a 23-year-old from Real Betis.
AC Milan had already made an attempt, including Alexis Saelemaekers in the deal, a player liked by the Spaniards. However, the negotiation never took off, and in fact, the Belgian ended up at Bologna. However, Miranda continues to be of interest, and recently there have been new contacts with the Spaniard's entourage to try to complete the operation in January.
Milan is targeting Miranda also for cost reasons, in addition to the technical aspect. The full-back's contract expires on June 30, 2024, but already at the beginning of the year, the Rossoneri could try to convince Betis with an offer of 3-4 million euros to try to make an early move. The alternative would be to wait until the summer when the player becomes a free agent and focus on a free transfer, writes Il Corriere dello Sport. But Milan must be wary of competition. Barcelona is also making moves for Miranda, and the Spanish team certainly has a strong appeal for the player. In fact, the full-back played with the Blaugrana jersey in the youth sector before being bought by Real Betis.
What about Davide Bartesaghi if Juan Miranda joins AC Milan?
Now that the economic conditions are favourable, Barcelona has also shown interest. Milan will try to speed up the process in January, but it won't be easy. In the event of Miranda's acquisition in winter, the club could consider sending young Davide Bartesaghi on loan to gain experience in a team that could use him more frequently.
