AC Milan's coach, Stefano Pioli has spoken to DAZN after the 0-1 loss against Allegri's Juventus. Here are his words:
"I don't talk to the team after the games, there is still too much tension and disappointment. We played a good game in 11 and in 10, we could have been more careful, we were not inferior even in numerical inferiority."
On the substitution of Christian Pulisic after the red card to Malick Thiaw:
"I took off an attacker to maintain the same defensive setup that we had prepared during the week. We started well in the second half, we had to be more intense and attentive in our half of the field to try to bring home a positive result."
On Rafael Leao:
"I expected more from Weah than Gatti on Leao. Gatti made many fouls. If you commit repeated fouls, you should get a yellow card by regulation. We played our game, we had to fill the area better in the first half. On the expulsion, we made an individual and team mistake because we had to stay tighter. It's a shame because even in 10 we were not inferior. A positive result would have been more fair."
On the red card to Malick Thiaw, Pioli said:
"He had to wait and not try to anticipate. The defender also made a mistake because he had to stay tighter. Thiaw was also unlucky because he slipped, but he could have done better."
On Luka Jovic, Pioli said:
"He came in well, he kept the ball well. His condition is improving, Okafor can also play in that role. But if you need a player who keeps the ball, Jovic has different characteristics than Okafor who does better in other game situations."
On the defeats against Inter and Juventus:
"It doesn't take anything away from us. We have to try to do better. The team is aware of its own qualities, then every game tells us where to improve. Certainly becoming more concrete is an objective."
