Florenzi: “Tonight, it felt like the kind of game where even if you shoot 25 times, it won’t go in

Alessandro Florenzi, the AC Milan defender, spoke to Sky Sport after the loss against Udinese at the San Siro. Here's what he had to say:

"I'll start from afar: The performance against Juve was good until the red card and even after, we certainly made some mistakes against PSG, in Napoli we deserved to win for what we showed. Tonight, something was missing. Clarity, we lost many balls. In my opinion, it all starts with the clarity needed in certain moments: I'll give an example, but it's not to judge. If Reijnders' shot goes in early in the second half, the game changes. But tonight, it felt like the kind of game where even if you shoot 25 times, it won't go in."

On how to overcome the difficult moment, Florenzi said:

"We all have to row in the same direction: from the first to the last person at Milanello, from the first to the last fan who are important to us and showed it tonight by chanting from start to finish."

On facing Paris Saint-German next in the Champions League competition:

"We have to play the game of our lives, different from today's. We have the characteristics to play a real game. You definitely have to want things, but it's how you want them, not just the result that's important. I'd rather lose a game against Juve where we played well than lose tonight where something was missing."

On shots from distance:

"It always depends on the game, on what the opponents give you. Today, we had many skilled players in the box and in the first half, we put in many interesting balls."

Is optimism missing? Florenzi answered:

"I have a phrase that I try to teach my daughters and the people I care about. 'Everything happens for the best.' Now we have to accept this situation, there's something to learn, but accepting the moment is the right thing to do. And the most important thing, I repeat, is for everyone to row in the same direction."
