Last night, Udinese obtained their first victory in Serie A this season, it was against Stefano Pioli's team. The Rossoneri, therefore, continue to struggle with the negative performances.
La Gazzetta dello Sport wrote that the Milan side which won the Scudetto two years ago should not be forgotten, but people must accept the fact that that team no longer exists now.
It is no coincidence that the Rossoneri club decided to make many changes this summer: starting with the playing philosophy, with many new faces. The problem lies with Pioli, who has stayed and enjoys the trust of the club, but at the moment seems to not have control of the team. Because after a week like the last one and with six days to prepare for this match against a Udinese - certainly respectable but never a winner in the league - much more was expected from the confused team seen on the San Siro pitch.

After wholeheartedly adopting the 4-3-3 formation this summer, starting to work on it from day one at Milanello and acquiring players functional to the tactical project, Milan has already changed its tactical setup several times in the course of these first two months of the season.
Against Verona, a 3-5-2 was seen, on several occasions the 4-2-3-1 returned to vogue and yesterday, in fact, the idea was to line up with two forwards in an apparent 4-4-2 and it was a failed experiment. And perhaps it's not so much about the positions to be sought, but the ideas that seem to be lacking in this AC Milan team.
Stefano Pioli's Milan made very little effort...
After Udinese's goal, which came in the 63rd minute, the only Rossoneri chances came, more out of desperation, in injury time. Too little for a team that, despite the many injuries that surely have an impact, fields players like Leao, Giroud, and Okafor in attack. The most telling stat for yesterday's match tells the possession of the ball: just 27% for Udinese, who, despite this, certainly deserved the win. Holding onto the ball for 90 minutes but not knowing what to do with it to put it in the goal has been Milan's obvious problem for quite some time now.
