Arrigo Sacchi, former AC Milan coach, spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sportnewspaper about the Rossoneri's great victory against Paris Saint-Germain. Here are his words:
"At the San Siro, it was a very beautiful and open challenge. In the first half, Milan seemed a bit disorganised to me, they couldn't double up on Ousmane Dembelé and Kylian Mbappé, often taking one-on-one situations, and by doing so, the French created several opportunities."
"In the second half, however, the Rossoneri organised themselves, they seemed much more orderly and compact, and they managed to close down and double up on the wings,"
Sacchi added:
"Everyone gave their all, everyone committed themselves to the maximum, and this is a very positive aspect, especially because they were coming from the ugly home defeat against Udinese in the league."
He continued:
"The victory over PSG is an important response from the group, which, however, now has the obligation to continue on this path... To avoid ups and downs, to avoid suffering from drops in intensity and attention, it is essential to have a great team spirit and very strong motivations."
On Rafael Leao, Sacchi said:
"I want to highlight Rafael Leao's great performance. The Portuguese, who in my opinion has impressive qualities, and I get angry every time he doesn't exploit them (because it's really a shame...), came back to help his teammates in defensive phases, made an incredible series of sprints, and in this way, in addition to causing problems for Paris Saint-Germain, he gave courage to the whole team."
On Rafael Leao still and also Olivier Giroud, Sacchi commented:
"Leao's counterattacks in the second half were truly devastating: impossible to stop him. And then, how can we not mention Olivier Giroud's header: perfect in timing, precision, and power put into the ball. And mind you, his direct opponent was Milan Skriniar, someone who is respected in aerial duels. A sign of hope for the future from San Siro, in short. Both for the Champions League and for the league."
