The soap opera of AC Milan's new stadium is enriched with a new and important episode, as relayed by Milan News. In fact, yesterday, the mayor of San Donato Milanese, Francesco Squeri, met with ten colleagues (out of a total of 15 invited) from the municipalities in the Southeast and Southwest of Milan to outline the project of the Rossoneri club and the related technical-bureaucratic process, and also to begin discussing possible critical issues.
This morning, Il Giorno reports that at yesterday's meeting, the mayors of Carpiano, Cerro al Lambro, Colturano, Dresano, Melegnano, Opera, Paullo, Peschiera Borromeo, San Giuliano, and San Zenone participated. They gave a sort of green light to Milan's project, with some topics such as roads, transportation, infrastructure, and security that will need to remain in focus, given the scope of the project and the repercussions it will have on the territory.
After yesterday's meeting, there will soon be a new meeting that will aim for a program agreement: in this summit, in addition to the neighboring municipalities of San Donato, Lombardy Region, Metropolitan City, South Park, Autostrade per l'Italia, Rfi, and Trenord will also participate.
These are the next steps: after the request for urban planning variation, the municipality of San Donato aims to conclude the instructional phase by the end of 2023, which means the checks on the project's compliance, and subsequently, everything will be presented to the population.
