AC Milan are interested in signing 17-year-old Serbian attacking midfielder Matija Popovic, as reported a week ago.
The player's contract with Partizan Belgrade is due to run out in December. He has reportedly ruled out the idea of a possible renewal so far.
According to what is reported by the Italy-based website Calciomercato.com, the negotiations between AC Milan and the player's entourage are well underway. However, they are not complete yet.
The reason why the talks are yet to be finalised between the parties is the presence of many clubs in the race for Popovic as well, especially German clubs.
