Last summer, there was a long saga about AC Milan chasing the signature of Porto's Iranian centre-forward, Mehdi Taremi. The experienced player eventually stayed where he is now as the deal failed.
The Porto president, Pinto Da Costa, has now opened up to the media about the Rossoneri's attempts to sign the player last summer. Here are his words as he described Milan's efforts as "ridiculous":
"AC Milan came up last summer with ridiculous proposals that weren't even worth talking about."
On interest in Mehdi Taremi from other clubs, the Porto president said:
"He has received €10m per year salary offers from other clubs… it’s impossible to match that."
Mehdi Taremi's contract expires this summer. The 31-year-old player has only scored 3 goals and made 3 assists this season after 16 matches played.
