AC Milan's team must be fixed soon. In January's transfer market session, there will be a lot of work to be done to reinforce the team.
This 'repair process' needs to be understood in two ways. The first is the classic sense, fixing something that is broken—in this case, Milan's defense, with only Fikayo Tomori as the sole survivor.
The second sense is to rectify past mistakes, such as not securing an adequate alternative to Olivier Giroud. That's why making a move for a defender in January is mandatory, while targeting a forward is highly likely.
AC Milan's primary objective in attack

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the number one target for the attack remains Jonathan David, the Canadian striker from Lille.
Initially valued at around 60 million euros, a less-than-stellar performance in the first part of the season and, notably, a contract expiring in 2025 will likely decrease the price. Currently, the asking price hovers around 40 million euros, still quite high, but if it further decreases, AC Milan will step in without hesitation.
Jonathan David is a perfect fit: young but with considerable experience. Additionally, like Noah Okafor, the Canadian can also be deployed as a second striker, making him integrate well with the rest of the team.
A loan deal for AC Milan's defence?
Regarding defence, the most favoured name at the moment seems to be Jakub Kiwior, a Polish defender who sees little playing time at Arsenal. In this specific case, Milan aims for a loan solution, which would also be advantageous in terms of performance: Kiwior has played at Spezia and already knows Serie A, a factor worth considering.
The backup plan is Matteo Gabbia, currently on loan at Villarreal, who might be recalled by Milan's management.
Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth is also mentioned, but the club doesn't seem willing to part with him in January, preferring to wait until his contract expires in six months. Milan might pursue a move for him during the next summer transfer window.
