AC Milan are reportedly considering a move in January for a new striker (read the details here). But, the defence is also not forgotten, especially since Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw, and Marco Pellegrino are out due to injuries.
At the moment, head coach Stefano Pioli can rely on Fikayo Tomori and, hopefully soon, also on Simon Kjaer once he recovers fully and reaches a good fitness level.

AC Milan's loanee Gabbia an option, but not only...
For this reason, intervention in the market will be necessary in January's transfer session. The most logical move would be to recall Matteo Gabbia: the 24-year-old player was loaned to Villarreal in the summer and could now be brought back to the base.
According to what is reported by Il Corriere dello Sport, Gabbia would would be happy with this option. At the same time, the AC Milan club managers are following Jakub Kiwior, currently at Arsenal where he doesn't find much space: his past at Spezia makes him an attractive player as there wouldn't be much need for adaptation in Serie A.
The Arsenal club management, however, does not want to loan the player out, but if there were openings in the next weeks, AC Milan club directors, Moncada and Furlani as well as D'Ottavio will try to beat the competition for him.
