The AC Milan club is waiting to find out if Ismael Bennacer will be available for the team's obligations in the January month.
The Algerian midfielder, who returned to availability only at the beginning of December after a serious knee injury, could be among the players selected for the Africa Cup of Nations, which will likely already deprive Pioli of Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze.
According to what is reported by Milan News, it seems that the former Empoli player, Ismael Bennacer, is included in the list of 55 players who are pre-selected by Coach Jamel Belmadi.
There's about two weeks left, until December 31st, when the list will be reduced to 27 players.
That's when we'll start to understand if the Rossoneri player will indeed be called up to play in the tournament.
The feeling from Algeria is that, despite having recently recovered, Bennacer will be part of the Algerian squad list for the African Cup of Nations.
