Between Mike Maignan and AC Milan, there is a shared desire to continue this journey that began on May 27, 2021, for a long time to come.
For a few weeks now, the management has been working on initiating negotiations for the renewal of the French goalkeeper's contract, which expires in 2026.
According to what is reported by those at Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri's initial verbal offer is around 5 million euros plus bonuses which are tied to team and individual accomplishments.
Mike Maignan and his representatives, though, have asked for more time as their expectations were higher than what the Rossoneri have offered. In fact, they have asked for around 7 to 8 million euros net salary per season.
The discussions will continue anyway; more meetings will be needed to reach a definitive agreement. In the background, Bayern Munich's strong interest in Mike remains, as he's considered the ideal profile for the post-Neuer era.
