AC Milan's situation in the defence has worsened with Fikayo Tomori's injury as he will be sidelined for around two months. The reliable English centre-back joins Malick Thiaw and Pierre Kalulu in the infirmary at Milanello. What is important to note is that these three players were deemed important starters for Stefano Pioli at the start of the season and also at one point during the last 2022-2023 campaign.
Needless to say, a situation like this implies a very active Milan in the January transfer market. In this sense, today Tuttosport published the following headline:
"Gabbia is the first move, then there will be an attempt for Mukiele."
If the Rossoneri managers need to bring home at least two defenders, they'll economise on one and recall Matteo Gabbia from his loan at Villarreal, which, in the meantime, has agreed to terminate the loan deal early.
After that, according to the same newspaper, Geoffrey Moncada's shortlist includes Nordi Mukiele from Paris Saint-Germain, 26 years old.
The AC Milan club management would knock on Paris' door if there was a chance for a loan. Among other names, Thilo Kehrer from West Ham has been proposed, and the dream would be Clément Lenglet from Barcelona (currently on loan at Aston Villa), which, as of now, remains a complicated path.
