AC Milan's goalkeeper, Antonio Mirante, who started in the cup match against Cagliari, which ended in a 4-1 victory for Stefano Pioli's team, spoke to SportMediaset and said these words:
"It wasn't easy for the young ones, but they played well; it's right to give them credit. The approach wasn't the best, then we found solutions, especially exploiting Chukwueze on the right. The double advantage helped us, and we behaved decently. It's a shame about the goal conceded."
On the young players, Mirante said:
"Simic? If he doesn't lose momentum, he's ready. Mentally and physically, he's there, even if he's not very tall. He takes few risks, is fast, knows what he has to do, and also when a foul is necessary. He has great potential. But today, I liked all the young players, especially (Alex) Jimenez. In this injury-filled season, these guys must be important for us."
