The market dream for Milan in January is named Alessandro Buongiorno. The next few days will be very decisive to see if a deal will finally be materialised or not.
At the moment, the chances are very slim to sign the 24-year-old Italian centre-back. The reason? The exaggerated valuation by Torino, asking for over 30 million euros. Moreover, President Urbano Cairo has shown in the past that he is willing to retain his players even at the cost of economic loss later on, as the Belotti case teaches.
AC Milan management is trying, but at the figures requested by Torino, it will be impossible to make the deal happen in January, as per Antonio Vitiello in his editorial piece for Milan News. If, however, Torino accepts the inclusion of counterpart to lower the cost, such as the transfer of Lorenzo Colombo's contract, then something could happen. If Milan fails to sign Buongiorno in January, they will try again in the summer. With the possible departure of Simon Kjaer, the Rossoneri will need a new investment in defense, as the Dane's contract expires in June.
It is simpler to reach Tanguy Nianzou from Sevilla, proposed to Milan by agents. The Rossoneri are considering it, but they don't want to sign players just to make up the numbers. Also, because within a month or a month and a half, Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori will be back. Evaluations are ongoing for the former PSG French player.
Lilian Brassier from Brest is still liked, but the price must drop, or the operation will not take off, as per the same source.
