AC Milan is always looking for opportunities in the market to strengthen the team. The priority right now is to present a new defender for Stefano Pioli.
The club is currently interested in Torino's Italian centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno who is valued by Urbano Cairo at around 40 million euros, which is clearly a very high fee.
According to Calciomercato.com, a final attempt to sign him will be made in the coming few days, despite the fact that negotiations with Torino's president, Cairo, are very difficult.
It should not noted, though, that Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D'Ottavio do have in their watchlist 24-year-old French defender Lilian Brassier's profile who is valued at around 10 to 12 million euros. We should also not forget the name of 21-year-old Frenchman Tanguy Nianzou Kouassi, the former Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich player, currently plying his trade for Sevilla.
In addition to that, 23-year-old Polish player Jakub Kiwior from Arsenal, formerly of Spezia, and French defender Clément Lenglet, who is 28 years old, from Aston Villa (on loan from Barcelona), could both be available on a loan deal.
A defender's arrival is a priority. But, coach Pioli would also like to sign a midfielder as well especially after Krunic's exit and Ismael Bennacer playing in the African Cup of Nations (Tommaso Pobega is also out due to injury for a long time).
According to what is reported by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri management is focused on the defensive objective but will evaluate every opportunity that the market presents until February 1st, following the approach taken during the summer with the arrival of Luka Jovic at the last moment. Milan will, therefore, explore opportunities at the end of this winter window. The operation for a midfielder, however, will only be possible on loan, not on a permanent basis.
