In his piece in Il Giornale in this morning's print edition, Franco Ordine addressed the issue of too many goals conceded by Milan this season. With the two goals conceded against Bologna, the tally in the league has reached 25 goals conceded in 22 matches, and overall, throughout the season, it stands at 36 goals conceded in 32 matches. Too many. The causes can be multiple, and Ordine identifies two main ones, as relayed via Milan News:
"25 goals conceded, like Roma and Napoli, in 22 matches. Too many for those with ambitions of the top spot and even a place in the Champions League. Around here, defensive fragility is an index too important to be overlooked behind the lights of the best second attack."
Franco Ordine continued to talk about Milan:
"What causes such fragility is even evident: on one hand, the number of long-term injuries that have struck the small core of central defenders, on the other hand, the technical-physical makeup of the midfield."
