In this second half of the season, many eyes will be on Olivier Giroud. The future of the French striker, who will turn 38 in September, is still uncertain, with his contract expiring at the end of this season.
The experienced French centre-forward, however, is still riding the wave of success, as shown by his numbers this year, which can still be improved.
In fact, Tuttosport this morning published the following headline:
"Giroud aims for the record. Then he will decide."
The record that is mentioned is that of goals scored with Milan in the league. In the Scudetto season he scored 11, last year he reached 13: today, on the fourth matchdayday of the second round, he has already scored 10 goals in the Serie A.
On paper, he could try to reach his career historical records: 21 goals scored with Tours (2009-2010 in Ligue 2) and with Montpellier (2011-2012 in Ligue 1). The decision on his future will come later and will be taken by him, considering not only sporting but also family dynamics.
If he decides to stay, Milan would have no problem offering him a renewal, even if he would know that he would become more of a second striker, behind the new signing that the Rossoneri will surely make in the summer.
