After the match against Frosinone, which ended in a 2-3 victory for AC Milan, head coach Stefano Pioli said the following words to the media in a press conference:
Matteo Gabbia is doing well, what's the secret?
"Gabbia is delivering excellent performances, returning with enthusiasm, happiness, and effectiveness. He is giving us a lot, a tremendous professional. He shows continuity and reliability, and that's important for a defender. I don't think we have conceded much, but clearly, we always want to attack a lot. We are working to achieve balance."
Did the substitutions solve the issue for you? Pioli replied:
"Compliments scare me because then the criticisms come. Substitutions, in your opinion, only work when the goal comes later. We needed to fill the box, and with the two forwards, we succeeded more."
Did you expect Frosinone to be so motivated? Pioli replied:
"I believe Frosinone started better than us because they exploited some of our construction errors. Then I believe we interpreted the game well."
Luka Jovic was so decisive, did you expect that?
"Yes, because I watch him every day, and he is technical, physical, has quality, and talent. I insist with him, motivate him because he can be Milan's center forward. We cannot always play with two forwards, but when he plays, he does well."
Does the recent form increase regrets?
"We are running like in the first two weeks; the one that hurts the most is the defeat in Bergamo. What matters is that with the new year, we are doing many good things, knowing that we can do better. It's useless to think about the past now; we are finding continuity, and we want to carry it forward."
Will you watch Inter-Juve out of curiosity or interest? Pioli answered:
"Curious, interested to a certain extent because we will surely recover something. Today's victory was well-deserved, tomorrow's game will be balanced and challenging."
