After the victory against Rennes 3-0 at the San Siro stadium, Stefano Pioli spoke to Sky Sport Italia and said these words
"I believe it's pointless to talk about the Champions League again. From the disappointment of elimination, we've set ourselves an objective, which is to do our best. Tonight's match wasn't easy, they were playing well. They were in a great moment of form. We took the advantage we wanted, but it's not over yet."
On Ruben Loftus-Cheek:
"He had some physical problems and played without training. He has significant physical power that he needs to be in good shape to exploit. He can give us a lot of satisfaction even in terms of scoring."
On Rafael Leao:
"It's normal to miss a goal, but I've always seen him calm and happy. Even when he hasn't scored, he's always been present. We would like him more inside the box, but he's doing it more. The important thing is that the team wins, and he has always been a protagonist in the team's victories."
On Milan's moment, Pioli said:
"It's a good moment, but in football, you should never relax. We're doing well in this 2024. Sunday will be difficult, but we're in a good mental state. We must continue like this."
Again on Ruben Loftus-Cheek:
"I found him more offensive and with even more quality. I saw him as a box-to-box player, but not with all this quality and physicality. He reminds me of Milinkovic-Savic, I'm happy for him because he's really fantastic."
Pioli added:
"Leao will always seek fun and aesthetics because he's that kind of player. But he knows well what he needs to improve. He must always try one-on-one situations. His improvement should lead him to be more attacking, to be more in the area, and therefore to score more goals."
