La Gazzetta dello Sport on newsstands this morning also provides an update on last night's match between Milan and Rennes. The positive news for the Rossoneri doesn't stop at the 3-0 victory against Stade Rennais and the strong performance. In fact, there is the spotlight on Malick Thiaw who finally returned to the playing field after seventy-nine days later.
His last appearance was here on November 28, 2023, in another European match, Milan-Dortmund in the Champions League. He has finally recovered from the hamstring injury.
Thiaw, it is reported, entered shortly after the quarter-hour mark of the second half, replacing Simon Kjaer. Against Monza, and away from home, Malick Thiaw is expected to be fielded among the starters.
The recovery from injury has occurred within the expected timeframe, if not ahead of schedule, and that was the reason why the club chose to forgo a defensive acquisition in the last January transfer window.
