Marco Di Bello, the referee of Lazio - Milan, on his own Instagram profile, posted a story, later deleted, with a photo of himself in action at the Olimpico stadium, accompanied by the song 'Zitti e Buoni' (translated literally to 'Shut up and behave') by Maneskin, whose lead singer Damiano is openly a Roma fan. A choice - as written by the Corriere dello Sport - that further fueled the anger of Lazio supporters, who after the events of Friday (the expulsions of Pellegrini, Marusic, and Guendouzi) felt also mocked by the referee who in the post also wanted to remind of his 161 Serie A matches.
In defense of Di Bello, his wife Carla Faggiano took to Instagram with the following statements:
"I don't want to talk about refereeing, football, and players, but I can't talk about sport because sport is no more: in sport there's no room for hatred and violence. Instead, for two days, and who knows how many more will follow, the most unspeakable malice and hostility are being poured on a man. Behind a uniform, off the field, away from the cameras, there's a man. With love! Carla".
