Fiippo Galli, AC Milan legendary player, spoke to the microphones of Radio Rossonera and discussed the current situation of the team coached by Stefano Pioli, also focusing on some individual cases.
Here are his statements on Yunus Musah and Samuel Chukwueze's first season:
"We know well how in modern football one must know how to read situations. They still need to understand better the game's development. They need to reach a level of maturity where they can read the situations on the field and act accordingly. True talent is the one capable of not being surprised by what happens."
On comparing Charles De Ketelaere's and Samuel Chukwueze's cases:
"I'm not sure if the managements (of each player) are similar; I would have to go back and retrieve data and situations that don't come to mind right now. I don't see this parallel, that's my fault. I believe making such parallels is somewhat inappropriate; each player has their own story and career trajectory, moments when they must adapt to one context or another... How many times have players not performed with us and then excelled elsewhere? Or vice versa. I don't think Chukwueze fails to perform because he wasn't managed well; at this moment, he's struggling on his own. Then when everything clicks, it's easier to fit in. Turnover cannot be used as a word, but making few changes from one game to another can help those who come in. When it becomes massive, these guys can struggle."
On young players, Galli said:
"Pioli is bringing back those who have been out for a long time and trying to recover them. There is already that attention, and this can divert attention from players like Simic or Jimenez, for example, who will be busy in the Youth League on Wednesday. There must be synergy between the first team and the Primavera. If you advance in the Europa League, Pioli may pay more attention to giving playing time to the younger ones to see if they are fit for the Milan squad."
On the AC Milan starlet Francesco Camarda, Galli said:
"They will never listen to what I say, don't worry (laughs). I mean whoever we talk about, of course. Everyone has their own strategies; maybe the contract is there to be signed, and they are waiting for the right moment. Or, on the other hand, there are sirens from abroad that can somehow attract. Of course, it would be a pity for a boy who grew up with us and has always been a Rossoneri... There have already been attempts to take him away from us. It's all complicated, I'm sorry, but I can't do much, I can't sign the contract myself (laughs)."
