AC Milan beat Hellas Verona at the Bentegodi stadium and took advantage of Juventus' draw against Genoa. The Rossoneri team is now creating a small gap between themselves and coach Allegri's Bianconeri: a sort of treasure trove that could prove useful in the upcoming weeks as commitments become increasingly intense between the league and the Europa League. Now, Milan is convincing.

As highlighted this morning by Corriere dello Sport, today's Milan is "smiling." The Rossoneri team hasn't been seen in this condition for too long, probably since the days of winning the league. It's no coincidence that the current standings closely resemble those of two seasons ago. The only major difference is Inter's path, which is objectively flawless. But Milan, compared to the ups and downs of the first half of the season, has gotten back on track, thanks in part to the summer transfer market, which is now bearing fruit.

The frontman is undoubtedly Christian Pulisic, who was decisive again yesterday with a goal, his twelfth of the season marking a personal record. On March 30th against Fiorentina, he will conclude a remarkable month: the American has scored in four consecutive matches. Yesterday also saw Samuel Chukwueze finally netting his first league goal, beautiful and crucial. And then there are the veterans. Theo Hernandez stole the show yesterday with one of the best performances of his career at Milan, according to Stefano Pioli: "I've never seen Theo like this, in terms of presence within the group, maybe not even during the title-winning year."

Yesterday afternoon's victory against Verona, a team in form coming from two consecutive wins, came in the sign of the number five. Milan's continuity during this period is confirmed by the fact that the three points from Bentegodi mark the fifth consecutive victory in March. This streak started with Lazio, followed by Slavia and Empoli, and will conclude, after the break, against Fiorentina. But the number five also recurs in the goals scored.

Pulisic's goal yesterday broke the barrier of 5000 Rossoneri goals in Serie A: a historic milestone made possible by the many goals Milan has been scoring recently. Indeed, as CorSport notes, the fact that the break comes now, after such a favorable March for Milan, "seems to be the only discordant note" in a truly positive period. It will be up to Pioli and his team to stay ready and maintain the same focus starting from March 30th, when they face Fiorentina at the Franchi.
