French 20-year-old midfielder, Warren Bondo, who scored against AC Milan in the Rossoneri's defeat against Monza on February 18 (4-2), was once linked to making the move to the San Siro. However, he eventually decided to leave his former club, AS Nancy, in 2022.
His agent, Fabrizio Ferrari, reveals in an exclusive interview with Numero Diez that the player was very close to joining the Rossoneri.
Here are his statements:
"He was very close to Milan. Perhaps the first team that contacted us. The Rossoneri, thanks to their scouting staff and their attention to the French market, were among the first to make a move, and it was certainly an option. Together with Milan, because it was a mutual decision, we decided not to continue negotiations. The boy wanted to play, and it was difficult to envision a stable integration into the first team. The path at Milan would have been tortuous, so we all thought that Monza could be the best way."
On the negotiations with Monza and Adriano Galliani:
"Warren is managed by me and his family. It was one of the most complex operations. It wasn't easy to convince him, coming from Nancy, a strongly French team, and having many options to continue in France with Nice, Strasbourg, and many Ligue 1 teams. It wasn't easy to persuade him to go to Italy and accept the challenge of Serie A with Monza, which was definitely a new team. Galliani's intervention was crucial. Despite last year's disappointing season, he believed in him, but also the club believed in him. This year he has exploded and has repaid everything, the investment made by Monza, the trust he placed in the club."
