Gianfranco Zola has given an interview to the microphones of Gazzetta dello Sport in which he talked about the battle for Champions League spots in Serie A, but not only that.
The vice-president of Lega Pro also spoke about Milan:
"The gap, indeed, is considerable. Inter, this season, has raised the bar and I don't think they intend to lower it, meaning they won't sell their best pieces. A well-organised team, and the club itself is also at a high level. It will be up to others, Milan, Juventus, Roma, to raise the bar instead."
On AC Milan, Zola said:
"They're there on merit. They have good players, foremost I think of Loftus-Cheek and Pulisic who come from Chelsea. They can maintain the second position and then think about strengthening. Pioli's stay? I wouldn't have doubts if I were a Milan executive. Pioli won a Scudetto leading a team that was neither the favourite nor the best. I don't understand the criticism that has rained down on him. Milan has had its ups and downs, but it's normal."
