Antonio Cassano has spoken about Rafael Leao. The former Milan and Inter forward intervened on the 'Domenica Sportiva' criticizing Milan's number 10, not considering him a great player. On social media, the Portuguese player responded by reposting the video with clown emojis. Below are Cassano's words, as relayed via Milan Press:
"I still think that it's all smoke and no fire. If I look at other wingers, Rashford last year scored 26 goals and had a wonderful season, contributing in both phases. Kvaratskhelia, just arrived, had a wonderful season contributing in both phases. Foden is a year younger and has already scored 21 goals and 10 assists."
Cassano added:
"What are we talking about? In Italy, the league is not good. The problem is that he thinks he's a phenomenon and there are people who follow him. He's a good player with great physical strength, that's it. So, people like Kaká, Rui Costa, even Vinicius today, how much should they earn? He wanted a lot of money and they gave it to him, now he's worth 120, 130, 140 million euros."
Cassano continued to talk about Leao:
"We're talking about an average player with physical strength who scored 8 goals, but five and a half months went without scoring in a weak league. We must remember that Serie A lacks quality, intensity, and rhythm. He went five and a half months without scoring. Then he makes two plays, two accelerations. When I was playing ten, fifteen years ago, he wouldn't even have played for teams fighting for sixth or seventh place. Unfortunately, in Italy, we're good at this. I don't see him as a top player."
Cassano concluded:
"Look at Lautaro, he runs, fights, sacrifices, scores and assists, he's a team player and a leader. No one talks about Lobotka, I said he was worth of Barcelona, or Bayern Munich. The other day they asked Xavi, "Who would you take in your team?" and he said, "Lobotka". The problem is that some people have a very good media press."
