Michele Criscitiello, sports journalist and CEO of 'SportItalia', spoke about the moment of Stefano Pioli's Milan in his Monday editorial for the TV website.
Here's what he wrote.
"The season is not yet compromised for Milan, which is regretting wasting too much in the first half of the season, but now is closing well in the league, with a second place to seal, but above all in the conditions in which Milan finds itself, it is not forbidden to set limits in this Europa League. Milan is stronger than Roma but will have to prove it in the double confrontation. The Rossoneri have regained injured players, physical condition, and brilliance in some key roles. Too many setbacks have conditioned the season. Then whose fault it is, from the outside, we cannot know," Criscitiello began his intervention.
"Thursday will be a crucial match for a season that has already issued some verdicts for Milan. Pioli is eternal. Every time they're about to take his seat away, he stays quiet, works, and chains himself. This is a great merit for a great professional. If then Pioli will really secure confirmation, he deserves only applause, but if the club does not understand that they will have to raise the bar even higher, there is a risk of losing another year, marked by good performances but zero victories,"
Criscitiello concluded:
"Milan has victory in its DNA and if you play well, finish second or reach the final but bring home nothing, you cannot consider it a positive season. If you're Bologna, it's okay, but Milan must win, not just play well and receive applause."
