After weeks of speculation about his departure at the end of the season, Stefano Pioli has strengthened his position with a string of results and with the endorsement of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
This was reported this morning by La Repubblica, which added that the Milan coach has distanced himself from the shadow of the Spaniard Lopetegui. The Rossoneri coach, however, still urged caution: "Praise and criticism, when you coach a big team, are constantly fluctuating. Of course, I love coaching Milan."
Here are some other statements about his future made after the victory against Fiorentina as well: "I am very attached to Milan: how can you not be attached to this club? But we shouldn't think about the future, neither me nor the players. The club should, because they have to plan, understand where to intervene. We should focus on what to do on the field, as we've always done, isolating ourselves at Milanello to prepare for matches. We must do it now too: there are many important matches between the league and Europe. Would I stay at Milan? I have never had doubts. You don't leave Milan, Milan is Milan and I feel great here. Then we are ambitious and everyone expects you to win every game. We won the Scudetto two years ago and everyone expects us to win. I am very happy at Milan, then it depends on what will happen. I get along with everyone, with Furlani, Ibra, Moncada... I am happy at Milan."
